The European emigration to the United States
On this website we focus at the migration from Europe during the 19th and 20th century, when many poor Europeans left their homes and countries and moved to north America. The colonisation of north America occured from east to west and in 1776 thirteen colonies could declare themselves free. The countries which struggled of the power was, besides England, France, the Nederlands and Spain. The qonquest of the american continent was in progress during all the 19th century. This occured both in a political and a military way and in a pracitial way when the cultivable arable (the Frontier) moved more to the west. It is important to remember that not all immigrants were europeans, especially Asians became important at the end of the 19th century.
