Photos Many families visited the photographer at home in Sweden to have their photos taken before they emigrated. After the arrival in America it was important indeed to send a photo from America home to the relatives to show one´s newly bought clothes, a family photo and a photo showing how you live etc.
Southampton April 8 1912. We had a nice time together. Now we are happily
arrived here and are all in good health. It was a little stormy on the North Sea,
it is true, but everything went off allright, the children are somewhat unruly
but it is a good thing that they are healthy. On the 10th we are going out on
the Atlantic so we have passed through England, it was very beautiful, the
trees were in full blossom and the cattle were out grazing. Greetings from AA |
